Nissan Recalls 47,000 Cars Due to Defective Brakes

Nissan has issued a recall of almost 47,000 of their electric vehicles (LEAF) due to defective brake system. U.S safety regulators have confirmed the problem is inside the cars’ electronic brake booster.
“During very cold temperatures, the relay inside the electronic brake booster may freeze, requiring the driver to exert more effort to slow the vehicle down.” (NHTSA.com)
The risk of a crash is increased if additional brake effort would be required to stop the vehicle.
Even though no injuries have been reported to the manufacturer so far, the consequences of a defective brake system are far too dire to take any chances. Nissan and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are encouraging consumers to contact them to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
